This 1600 space multi-storey car park was constructed for Manchester Royal Infirmary as part of the hospital’s redevelopment and expansion programme.
The facility included retail and commercial units at ground level with the external façade, giving a rain screen effect, being constructed almost entirely off site using pre-fabricated components cast by SCC Ltd. These include columns, beams, pre-finished flooring units plus a large proportion of the external cladding units and a ‘flat packed’ pre-cast stair well construction.
Awarded as part of a design and build package the site was completed in 2006.
